How Does Sofwave™ Work?

Unlike other devices that utilize needles or a laser beam to break the skin, Sofwave™ uses Ultrasound Parallel Beam SUPERB™ energy to bypass the skin’s epidermis and target the mid-dermis to stimulate new collagen and elastin, as well as your hyaluronic acid production.  

The ultrasound technology heats the mid-dermis and causes micro injuries, inducing the body’s healing response. As these injuries heal, new collagen and elastin are created. Newly created collagen strengthens the skin matrix, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity, and volume loss.

What to Expect During Sofwave™ Treatment?

When our patients elect to schedule their first Sofwave™  treatment with us, they can expect to arrive early to have numbing cream applied. Your  Sofwave™ provider may apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment area, ensuring you feel no pain or discomfort.

The Sofwave™ treatment can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on the treatment plan. During treatment, patients will also have a cooling device called the Zimmer, which blows cold air over the skin and allows for a more comfortable experience. 

Sofwave™ is a non-invasive treatment, and recovery is very minimal. The skin may feel warm to the touch, with some possible redness. Both warmth and redness will subside one to two hours after treatment. Most patients can return to work or school immediately following treatments.
